One of the Biggest Fears After Pet Loss

One of the questions I hear surprisingly often from pet parents is, "I'm moving house... will my pet in spirit know where to find me?"

It's a question that often catches people off guard. In the midst of packing boxes and saying goodbye to a home filled with memories, another worry quietly surfaces. What if I'm leaving them behind?

Every room holds a memory. The hallway where they greeted you every evening. The corner of the living room where they curled up for afternoon naps. The kitchen where they patiently waited for dinner. The garden where they chased birds or basked in the sunshine. Our homes become woven together with the lives we shared, so it's understandable that moving can stir up a fresh wave of pet grief.

After thousands of Evidential Animal Communication sessions with pets in spirit, I have never once had a pet tell me they couldn't find their family because they had moved house.

The message is always the same.

Your Pet Was Never Attached to the House

As humans, we naturally become attached to places. We remember the house where we brought our puppy home for the first time, the chair our cat claimed as their own, or the bedroom where we spent those final precious moments together. The walls become filled with memories, and because of that, it's easy to believe our pet must be equally attached to the home itself.

Yet pets in spirit continue to show me something very different.

Again and again during sessions, they bring through evidence that they are fully aware of where their families are living now. They'll describe a new home, mention a staircase that wasn't in the previous house, acknowledge another pet sharing the space, or reference changes that happened long after they left their physical body. They don't seem confused by the move. They don't ask where everyone went. Instead, they simply continue showing me that they are still part of their family's life.

Home Has Always Been the Love You Shared

Most dogs would happily trade a large backyard for a tiny apartment if it meant staying beside the people they loved. Cats may appear fiercely independent, but even they spend their days seeking out the rooms where their favourite humans are. It wasn't the bricks, the roof, or the furniture that made your house feel like home to them.

It was you.

That truth doesn't change simply because they no longer have a physical body.

One of the most comforting things pets in spirit continue to share is that the relationship doesn't end with death. The form changes, but the love doesn't. The soul bond that connected you while they were here continues long after they leave this world. It isn't dependent on a particular place or a particular home. It's something much deeper than that.

The Soul Doesn't Need Directions

People sometimes ask me, "But how would my pet know where I've moved?"

It's a fair question because we're trying to understand something spiritual through the lens of our physical world.

When I connect Soul2Soul with a pet in spirit, I'm connecting with consciousness rather than a physical body. Consciousness doesn't seem to be limited by distance, countries, walls, or time. It doesn't need a map, a street address, or directions to know where the people it loves are.

They don't need to search for you because they never lost you in the first place.

You Can Never Leave Your Pet Behind

They are connected to your heart.

Wherever your journey takes you next, they know where you are. They continue walking beside you, loving you, and reminding you in countless little ways that your relationship has never truly ended.

Because home was never the house.
